Silverstone Round 1 was a solid start to the year for me, not really being my strongest track, I’m really happy with the way the weekend panned out.
Free Practice 1 was the first time in the dry at Silverstone, so we found a lot of areas to work on, finishing that session in P12
Free practice 2 was better, going in the right direction with the bike and finishing P6 with things still to work on.
Qualifying wasn’t too bad, I wasn’t happy with my lap however we finished P6 which I was content with.
Race 1 was a battle from the start going back a few places, so having to get through a few riders again, finishing P6 but also holding the new lap record after that race, giving me a pole start in Race 2.
Race 2 was a solid ride, had a few sliding problems throughout the race which felt like it held me back from running with the front bunch, but In the end we got P4.
Overall was a good start to the season, we leave Round 1 in P5, looking forward to Oulton Park, just hope we find a good setup, as we have never been on the Honda there, so we will see, but feeling good going into Round 2.
So it is a new bike & new gear for 2023 ....would like to thank Hammy at HMY Customs ( who I can't seem to tag at the moment on here) for superbly fixing my leathers from yellow to orange with a couple of days to spare before Round 1
Also a massive thanks to all my sponsors, both new in 2023 and the ones that have been with me a while, let's hope we can do more this year !!
